Dr Maylene Pineda

Dr Maylene Pineda is a specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who has been providing outstanding care and expert advice in obstetrics and gynaecology for over two decades.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists additionally trained in Maternal Fetal Medicine. She also has a Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound and Masters of Philosophy in Medicine from the University of Sydney.
Dr Pineda is currently the Head of the Department in Obstetrics at Nepean Hospital. She is a clinical lead in Perinatal Ultrasound, Maternal Fetal Medicine Department and High Risk Clinic at Nepean Hospital which is dedicated to providing quality perinatal care. Dr Pineda has also worked as a staff specialist in Canberra Hospital prior to settling in Sydney.
Dr Pineda is an author of several publications and a conjoint lecturer at the Australian National University and the University of Sydney, teaching medical students, resident medical officers, registrars and midwifery staff. She is actively involved in the revision and implementation of hospital guidelines and clinical governance.
Dr Pineda is described as a patient-oriented and caring person by both patients and colleagues. As a mother herself, her kind and gentle demeanour allows her to empathise with and relate well with her patients. She is married and enjoys home cooking and spending time with her young family.
Her main goal is to foster the highest level of care in women’s health.
